Installation
Unity Package Manager › Add package from git URL
https://github.com/IT-Kamianets/3d-unity-scene.git- Unity 6000.6
- com.unity.nuget.newtonsoft-json 3.2.1, resolved by the Package Manager
Purpose
It converts engine-independent scene definitions into live Unity scenes and synchronizes changes back into the shared scene format, so Unity is never the permanent source of truth.
Usage
The package sits between Unity and 3d-scene-schema: Scene Schema → Unity Scene → Scene Changes → Scene Schema. Use SceneJson to convert the C# scene data model to and from the schema's JSON.
Current state
A C# data model of 3d-scene-schema v1 under Runtime/Model/ SceneJson for converting the model to and from the schema's JSON (Newtonsoft.Json, with field names mapped to the schema) Not built yet: instantiating a live Unity scene from SceneData, and syncing edits back out
Main features
- C# data model of the scene schema v1
- JSON conversion matching the schema's camelCase field names
- Designed so the shared scene format can also serve Unreal, web viewers, and AI tools
Examples
- A Quest room scan converted to SceneData, then to JSON for upload
