Installation

Unity Package Manager › Add package from git URL

https://github.com/IT-Kamianets/3d-unity-spatial.git
  • Unity 6000.6
  • Meta XR MR Utility Kit (com.meta.xr.mrutilitykit) installed in your project. Without it the package compiles to a no-op.

Purpose

It connects the engine with real physical environments: room understanding, physical surfaces, boundaries, anchors, and environment scanning. Where 3d-unity-xr handles XR hardware, this package understands the physical space around the user and converts it into engine-independent scene data.

Usage

RoomScanner requests the Quest Scene API permission, loads the current room through MR Utility Kit, and converts it into a SceneData from 3d-unity-scene. One MRUKRoom becomes one SceneData.

Current state

  • RoomScanner: Quest Scene API permission, MRUK room loading, and conversion to SceneData
  • Scan and upload only: no multi-room splitting, rescan/compare, or loading a SceneData back into MRUK
  • Written against the documented MRUK API and not yet verified against a live SDK version, so member names may need adjusting

Main features

  • Meta Quest Scene API and MRUK integration
  • One scanned room converted to one scene
  • Graceful no-op when MRUK is not installed

Examples

  • Turning a real room into the initial digital scene for VRoom
